Haylee's Mission

Since I became a victim of domestic violence, I have been actively involved in attempting to spread the word about Domestic Violence Awareness. In 2006, my father murdered my mother in Pierre, South Dakota. I was 12 years old at the time, and my life was forever changed. Because of what I have been through, and have chosen to find a way to make a difference. I have chosen not to be just a victim. Instead, I have chosen to turn my experiences into a way to help and educate others. My message is intended to spread the word about domestic violence, to show how to recognize the signs, and to encourage others to get help. I also strive to give others hope and encouragement. I want everyone to realize that they have the ability to choose their own path and to make a difference in life, regardless of what happens.

I have had the opportunity to be involved in several domestic violence organizations and to speak to several schools and organizations about domestic violence.
